Chomedey (north 1) is a neighbourhood of Laval, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 10,182 living in private households. 29.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Arab at 14.4%. 69.3% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 35.0% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $67,000 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 60.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 3.65 km², giving a population density of 2,788 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
