Savane (west-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Montréal, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 7,337 living in private households. 66.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 13.7%. 33.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.2% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 49.8% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $63,600 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 62.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.63 km², giving a population density of 2,789 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
