Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu is a neighbourhood of Saint-Mathias-Sur-Richelieu, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,544 living in private households. 3.3% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 0.9%. 94.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.9% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 2.9% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $85,000 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 21.3% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 50.07 km², giving a population density of 91 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
