Outremont (northwest 1) is a neighbourhood of Montréal, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,683 living in private households. 60.1% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 38.0%. 39.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 41.7% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $47,200 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 79.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.42 km², giving a population density of 13,518 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
