Mercier (south-southwest 1) is a neighbourhood of Mercier, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 9,508 living in private households. 13.3% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 8.6%. 84.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 11.7% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $107,000 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 15.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 19.43 km², giving a population density of 489 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
