Chomedey (east-southeast 1) is a neighbourhood of Laval, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,906 living in private households. 54.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Arab at 23.9%. 44.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.5% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 52.1% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $53,200 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 74.2% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.52 km², giving a population density of 7,525 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
