L'Assomption (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of L'Assomption, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 2,279 living in private households. 2.8% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 2.6%. 95.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.0% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 3.1% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $78,000 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 19.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 59.22 km², giving a population density of 38 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
