Montréal-Est is a neighbourhood of Montréal-Est, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,394 living in private households. 18.9% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 12.2%. 78.8% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 12.1% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $64,500 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 62.4% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 12.27 km², giving a population density of 358 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
