Louis-Riel (west-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Montréal, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,118 living in private households. 54.3% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Arab at 24.1%. 44.7% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.9% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 47.3% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $55,200 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 78.2% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.41 km², giving a population density of 9,973 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
