Centre (west-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Montréal, in Greater Montréal. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,813 living in private households. 64.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 27.2% across Greater Montréal as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 31.7%. 34.5% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 0.7% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 41.3% of the population, compared with 24.3% citywide. Median household income before tax was $60,400 in 2020, compared with $76,000 for Greater Montréal. 64.0% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.75 km², giving a population density of 6,440 people per square kilometre (Greater Montréal averages about 908).
